What's your photography style?

My style is darker, natural light- very Pacific Northwest! I aim to capture the intimacy and subtle moments against the natural backdrop of the destination.

Where are you based? Do you travel?

I am based out of Seattle, Washington and I happily travel anywhere in the world!

How many photographers are onsite the day of the wedding?

Just me! If I feel it is necessary, I will bring an assistant. You may also add a second shooter to your elopement or wedding shoot for $100 per hour.

How many hours do you minimum book for?

There is a 2 hour minimum for weddings and elopements and 60 minute minimum for photoshoots.

How far in advance do we need to book?

You can book up to a year and a half in advance. For summer weddings, I am usually booked full by the end of February of the same year. Feel free to enquire about my availability- even if it isn't a long time in advance of your wedding date!

Can we meet with you before booking?

Absolutely! I prefer to meet with couples beforehand so we can all get to know each other. The more we can connect on a personal level, the more intimate your photos will be.

Do I get the rights to the images?

I retain the rights to the images but you are free to print the images, share them on social media, and enjoy them as you see fit - but you may not sell them.

How many edits do I get?

My wedding and elopement prices are all a la carte. This means that you get to pick how many hours, images, photographers, and ad-on sessions you would like!

How long after my wedding do I get to see the photographs?

You will get access to your photos within 4 weeks of your shoot during the summer season and typically within 2-3 weeks the rest of the year.

Do you choose which photos to edit or do I get to see the raw images and pick?

I will go through all of the photos from your session, narrow it down to just the best images, and those will be uploaded into an online gallery where you will get the final pick in which specific images you would like.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

To reschedule your portrait session, I will need 1 week notice before the date of the shoot. An additional retainer may be required depending on the situation. If you are rescheduling, I cannot guarantee you will get your first choice date, but will work with you to find a date for your session. When cancelling your shoot, please be aware the 50% retainer is non-refundable. If you decide to rebook your session at a later date, you will need to pay another retainer.

If your wedding is cancelled and you have paid the 50% retainer, it is non-refundable.

Do you do videography too?

No I do not, but I will happily recommend some talented videographers for you!

How many weddings have you shot in your career?

I have photographed around 80 weddings and attended well over 200 weddings as a caterer. I've been to all kinds of weddings big and small!

How many weddings will you shoot on my wedding day?

Just one! On your wedding day, all of my attention will be dedicated to you and preparing for your wedding.

Will you bring your own lighting?

I personally prefer the look of natural light, but I know sometimes there are things that cannot be achieved with natural light alone and I do have off camera flashes I will use if this situation arises.

Do you work from a shot list?

No. If I use a shot list, I become like a photography robot- I have to check off every box! I've photographed and attended enough weddings to know when all of the important things will happen. By the time your wedding rolls around, I'll also have your timeline so I know exactly when to expect certain events. If you have specific images you would like, I am more than happy to work with you to create these.

How long have you been a photographer?

I have been shooting since 7th grade (although 2nd grade Zoë traveled around Turkey with a tiny Olympus in hand). After high school, I attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago studying photography and fashion. In June of 2015, immediately after graduating, I started Zoe Burchard Studio.

Do you offer prints?

Each session comes with a personalized online gallery of your edited images from which you can order beautiful prints in various sizes and textures.

What about albums?

I work with a company called Kiss. They print beautiful, handcrafted albums with layouts designed by me, approved by you! Albums go from the super cute size of 4x4, up to a nice large 12x12 (coffee table sized wedding album).

Where should we go for our shoot?

We will work together to pick locations based on your interests and personality. Whether you know where you want to go, or have no idea at all- we will find the perfect spots! From sweeping mountain views to ocean-side cliffs, we’ll find the perfect spot for you!

Do your prices include travel fees?

No they do not. For destination weddings, travel and accommodations must be covered by you.

What if it's raining, pouring, and everyone is snoring!?

Not a problem for me! I'm a Northwest girl to the core! If you prefer to stay inside with a blanket and warm cup of tea on those wet, gray days, we can reschedule or shoot indoors.
